After four days of grueling contests, the Fortnite Esports World Cup 2024 tournament has finally culminated. The final clash was between American teams, XSET and Exceed, where the former won the Bo7 (Best-of-seven) series with a scoreline of 4-2. After its commendable victory, the US-based Fortnite team lifted the EWC trophy, received US$400,000 prize money, and claimed 1,000 Club Points. At the same time, the winning team’s Ritual was also awarded with US$50,000 for being the MVP.
XSET Dominated The Fortnite Esports World Cup 2024 Tournament With Zero Map Losses In Group Stage
The four-day tournament commenced on August 8 with the Group matches, where 16 teams across four groups competed against each other. XSET was placed in Group A alongside Team Falcons, DRAGONS eSports, and ZETA DIVISION, where it dominated every game. The Fortnite x EWC winner didn’t drop a map in Group Stage matches.
Following the Group Stage games, the EWC 2024 winner contested against Gaimin Gladiators, Heroic, and Exceed in quarterfinals, semis, and grand finale clashes. XSET claimed a 4-0 victory in QFs and followed it up with a 4-1 win in the semis. The toughest game for the EWC winning team came against Exceed, which went up to sixth round and ended at 4-2.

For the uninitiated, the Fortnite x Esports World Cup 2024 didn’t feature the Battle Royale game mode. Instead all the matches were played in 5v5 modes – Hardpoint, Capture the Flag, and Keeper – on maps built using UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite).
